Giving plastics a Second Life.

The concept of the Circular Economy can also and especially be applied to the plastics production chain. In modern times, the use of this raw material to produce articles has always been on the rise, but recycling is failing to keep pace. This is why the RECO range has been created.

REUSE - The RECO range of irrigation items are produced using polypropylene from post-consumer waste (such as domestic waste collection), but also from industrial waste from companies, even from completely different sectors (such as medical, construction, automotive and many others).

A system that therefore includes not only the industrial process, but also the waste produced by the end consumer, thus making the process as complete and with the greatest positive impact as possible.

RECYCLE - thanks to the replacement of traditional plastics with sustainable materials, the RECO range is made with more than 70% recycled plastics. A process that allows G.F. to give what is considered waste a Second Life: from waste to new resource.

Reduce emissions

We must not forget the impact on the climate: the processes of transformation and use of raw materials have a great impact on the environment and increase CO2 emissions. A more rational use can reduce carbon dioxide emissions and contribute to the health of the environment.

REDUCE - with the aim of reducing both CO2 emissions and the release of fossil fuels, thus increasing the sustainability of the production impact, the products in the RECO range are created using ABS from the same G.F. industrial waste. The reprocessed ABS is transformed back into reusable raw material.

This system enables G.F. to have a more sustainable supply chain with reduced CO2 emissions: each product in the RECO range achieves over 50%* CO2 savings compared to the same product in the traditional range.

Circular Economy

The Circular Economy is an economic system designed to be able to regenerate itself, thus also guaranteeing its eco-sustainability.

This concept originated from the Green Economy, a theoretical model of economic development, where in addition to the economic-monetary benefits, the environmental impact is also taken into consideration, i.e. the potential environmental damage produced by the entire cycle of supply, transformation, production up to the definitive elimination and disposal of the finished products.

Adopting a circular approach means reviewing all stages of production and paying attention to the entire supply chain involved in the production cycle: it is an economic system planned to reuse materials in subsequent production cycles, reducing waste to a minimum.

This concept, in fact, responds to the desire for sustainable growth, in the context of the increasing pressure to which Production and Consumption subject resources and the environment. 

The current model to be changed is the TAKE-MAKE-DISPOSE model, a linear process where each product, after completing its life cycle, is inexorably destined to be disposed of only as waste, a resource no longer useful.

There is therefore a need for a transition from the linear model to a circular model, which in considering all the phases (from design to production, from destination to end of life) is able to seize every opportunity to limit the input of materials and minimise waste and losses.

The linearity of the supply chain and the production process is increasingly unsuited to the reality in which we live and work.

The Circular Economy is the starting point for the development of the new RECO by G.F. PROJECT. The idea of reuse, recycling, sustainable supply chain. A mission that considers the current problems no longer negligible, always maintaining the quality and reliability of G.F. products.

Supply chain cycle

G.F. has always been a vertically integrated company, from the design to the construction of the mould, from the realisation of the finished product to the distribution and communication to the final market. Thanks to the Procurement, R&D and Quality departments, and thanks to state-of-the-art production facilities, G.F. can ensure a meticulous selection of resources and a careful control of all production phases, from the arrival of raw materials to the final assembly.

All this combined with the constant monitoring and evaluation of all suppliers, allows a reliable collaboration only with safe and certified players.
